Erstwhile Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Victor Ochei, Thursday submitted his nomination forms for the 2015 Delta State Governorship election at the National Headquarters of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abuja, heralded by a colouful-carnival-like atmosphere.

At hand to receive Ochei who arrived the secretariat with his wife, Hanatu, as well as hundreds of supporters was the party’s National Organising Secretary (NOS), Alhaji Abubakar Mustapher, who ushered the aspirant into his Wadata Plaza office.

The train of Ochei’s supporters which THEWILL gathered travelled from Delta and across the nation was in rapturous mood when Ochei arrived at exactly 12 noon Thursday to keep his appointment at the secretariat.

He told waiting reporters that his mission was to formally register his interest with the ruling party and promised to provide a leadership that will bring Delta State and her vibrant people the very best.

Rt. Hon Ochei called on his supporters and all Deltans at home and in Diaspora to gear up for an eruption of creative endeavours that his quest for Government House Asaba would unleash.

Ochei later departed the PDP Wadata Secretariat of the party to attend a civic reception hosted for him by Chief Chika Chiejine, the CEO of Savannah Suites Hotel, Abuja, at his residence, where he formally declared his Governorship interest saying: ‘Delta deserves the best, the better prepared and the best equipped intellectually, morally, technically and spiritually to deliver development for our people at this critical time. I am formally declaring my intention to seek the party’s flag upon the submission of my expression of interest and nomination forms by the special grace of God.’

Some of those in attendance included Chief Uche Okpuno of ULO Group; Chief A.C Okocha; Rtd. Gen Iweze; Barr. Ms. Bekere Clark; Hon Olorogun George Oyefia; Barr. Mrs. Kachikwu; and Mrs. Uche Shirley Njoku amongst others.

The PDP Governorship primary elections have been slated for November 29, 2014, nationwide.
